At the end of 2013 they announced that 1058 out of over 200,000 applicants were selected to proceed to round two for the selection of a crew to make a one-way trip to Mars.  What you might not know is that Mars One has recently added a set of 15 different stickers as a Contributor’s Perk for a $20 donation to raise funds for the effort. These stickers will hold up to the outdoors!  Estimated delivery is March 2014.

Grab these, or peek at other available Perks.  The most popular right now is the Mission Backstage Pass, where Contributors will receive exclusive reports on Mars One studies.  The Mars Orbit Selfie is trailing in second place, regardless of the long wait time –  selfie’s are estimated to arrive in 2019.

Apply to be Part of History & Help Get Man to Mars

The Mars Society conducts missions executed by volunteers to gain experience and knowledge towards a manned mission to Mars.  Arctic 365 Mission applications are now being accepted to be part of a 6 person crew to perform field exploration on an island 900 miles from the North Pole.  Ideally, the selected crew will have expertise in the areas of geology, geochemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, paleontology and engineering.ImageFor 12 months the crew will operate under many of the same conditions a crew will see during a human mission to Mars.  Mission details and the application process are in a Mars Society announcement.   Applications are due November 30, 2013.

If 12 months is too much of a commitment, additional volunteer opportunities are updated regularly.

Apply Now for a One-Way Trip to Mars with Mars-One

Mars One is taking video applications for a 2023 one-way mission to establish a permanent human colony on Mars.  Current applications can be viewed and rated by the public on their website as part of the selection process.  Mars One is a nonprofit and it appears funding for the project may come from televising the final round of the application process.  The short intro video on the mission is worth a look even if you’re not ready to sign up for a one-way ticket.
